Dawn E. Dzurilla, Founder & Managing Partner

In 2006, Dawn E. Dzurilla founded Gaia Human Capital Consultants, a retainer based Executive Search & Talent Acquisition Consulting practice to provide search and recruitment solutions for innovative impact & sustainablity technology, cleantech, renewable energy, environmental sustainability & private equity impact investors & information technology companies and non-profits.  

Dawn brings over 20 years of executive search and talent acquisition experience to every client engagement, especially adept at strategizing and executing complex & demanding executive search and talent acquisition situations, having conducted scores of client searches for CEO's, CXO's, Directors and divisional leaders, to building teams in transformative, disruptive and impact technology, investment and professional services companies.  

With precision, she devises and executes best-practice scalable recruitment solutions which strategically and tactically builds a culture of high performing teams and top talent.

Dawn founded or co-founded four companies and had served in numerous leadership roles in the corporate and public sectors. 


At Recurrent Energy, a utility-scale Solar Development firm, Dawn has served as Senior Talent Acquisition Partner.  Collaborating with stakeholder executive management and HR, she execute best-practice scalable and proactive talent acquisition solutions across the entire company, attracting coveted passive candidates and executing multiple searches, especially in Recurrent’s EPC division — in support of over 4.3 GW of large-scale solar energy projects development pipeline.

Prior, Dawn served internally as Director of Corporate Recruitment & Talent Acquisition of Eastridge Workforce Solutions in San Diego, serving as the firm’s senior corporate recruitment leader.  In support of the firm’s growth and executive-level high hiring demand, Dawn created and drove strategies that attracted a pipeline of top-talent in highly competitive markets.  She led the firm’s diversity recruitment initiative. 

Prior, Dawn co-founded H3 Capital Partners, a pioneering Impact Investment / Socially Responsible Investment firm, which considered social, environmental and corporate governance criteria as a investment objective.

Earlier in her executive search career, in Boston, she owned a successful retained search practice focused in the investment banking, mutual fund and investment management sectors.  She originated and executed scores of global searches, built extraordinarily successful teams ranging from Senior Executives, Portfolio Managers, Bankers, Investment Research and Technology Executives.  Additionally, she directed an Investment Bank's College Recruitment program.  Prior, Dawn served as Vice President, Executive Search Consultant of a top 10 largest and Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC) member retained search firm and prior, was Principal of an investment management industry retained search firm.

Dawn’s foray into Cleantech began in the early 1990s when she helped start-up and served as Head of Corporate Development for a pioneering, innovative medical waste technology company.  Dawn's career began as a Financial Analyst on Wall Street at Smith Barney. 

Dawn is a past National Chair of The Cleantech Open (CTO) and Director of Human Capital.  In a unique dual role, she provided mentorship to scores of CEO’s and CXO’s at tech start-ups concerning organizational and leadership planning strategies and led all of CTO’s HR functions including board, staff, and volunteer recruitment, retention, employee relations, employment branding, compensation & benefits and unified leadership succession planning and upgraded CTO's Board of Directors. 

Today, Dawn serves on the Board of Directors of G-Ride, a B-Share Corp and the nation’s first energy efficient car sharing company. She is an Advisory Board Member of the Solstice Initiative - launched by Princeton University scholars - an award winning community solar organization. Gaia Human Capital Consultants has been a member of The American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) and Dawn has served on the Board of Directors of a regional Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) chapter.

Dawn is active in California and San Francisco politics.  Since 2016, Dawn has proudly served as a Delegate of California's Democratic State Party and a member of CA State Senator Scott Wiener's delegation.  Dawn serves on the Board of Directors of a high-profile, diversity San Francisco political organization.

Dawn supports San Francisco, New York City and in the past, San Diego diversity workforce groups, environmental organizations including Save-The-Bay, diversity senior housing leader Openhouse and San Francisco's SPCA organization.  She is a member of the Princeton Alumni Association of Northern California. 

Passionate about diversity & inclusion leadership, impact, environmental and sustainability careers & investing and social change, Dawn has authored several articles and has presented at numerous professional, political and university venues including Net Impact, American Council on Renewable Energy, Stanford University, Columbia University, Evergreen State College, Florida Alliance for Renewable Energy, The Cleantech Open and Princeton University.

A native New Yorker, Dawn graduated from St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.  Dawn resides full-time in San Francisco, CA with Penny, an adorable Havanese puppy.  Dawn enjoys sailing in San Francisco Bay, snow skiing, the abundance of outdoor adventure in Northern California, competing occasionally in 5K & 10K road and cross-country running races and the diverse and amazingly cosmopolitan life of San Francisco and New York City.
