Main Street Power Co., a Boulder, Colo.-based distributed photovoltaic solar power developer, has hired Phil Henson, cfo of Solar Power Partners, in a similar role, SparkSpread has learned.
Officials at Main Street could not immediately be reached. Main Street was formed in 2008 as a spin-off from the International Center for Appropriate and Sustainable Technologies (iCAST), a Colorado nonprofit.
The company, which focuses on solar installations at school districts, universities and local government properties, finances projects under a PPA structure in partnership with MS Solar Solutions Corp., a subsidiary of Morgan Stanley.
Henson left Solar Power Partners following the company’s recent acquisition by NRG Solar, a subsidiary of NRG Energy.
Prior to Solar Power Partners, he was co-head of the power & utilities group at XL Capital Assurance, and before that, a project finance banker at ING Capital and Swiss Bank Corp.
